The theme for the 2019 International Day of Peace (on 9/21/19) is ‘Climate Action for Peace’, and the call of the UCC’s third Great Love is ‘Love of Creation’. Blood Drive This Thursday

We’re pleased to announce that we’re teaming up with the Rhode Island Blood Center to host a blood drive this Thursday (September 19) from 3pm to 6pm in Fellowship Hall.

Announcing our 2020 Mission Trip to Puerto Rico

We are excited to announce that year’s mission trip is an inter-generational trip (ages 16 and up) to Puerto Rico. Although it has been two years since hurricane Maria devastated this American island there is still tremendous destruction and wreckage. Rev. Dale will be leading this trip leaving the week after Barrington schools get out.

June 21-June 27, 2020

    National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI RI) Monthly Support Groups

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI RI) Monthly Support Groups

NAMI RI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) holds a monthly support group at our church for family members of people with mental illness. These meetings are open to anyone in the community regardless of whether they’re a congregant of Barrington Congregational Church. Meetings take place on the first Thursday of each month from 6 – 7:30pm in Room 6.

The next meeting is Thursday, September 5th.

Kayaking on Hundred Acre Cove

Dale is planning an afternoon of kayaking on Hundred Acre Cove for anyone interested on Sunday, September 15th from 2:30 – 4 pm. It’s open to all ages and abilities.

We will be launching from the boat ramp at Walker Farm where kayaks can be rented. The cost is $25 for a 2-hour kayak rental or $20 if we have 15 or more people renting.

PLEASE SIGN UP by Wednesday, September 11th by contacting Dale at (401) 246-0111 x 103 or dale@bccucc.org. Let him know if you’re bringing your own kayak or if you ‘re planning to rent one.

Be sure to come back home for ‘Open Doors Sunday’ on September 8th!  Whether we call it Gathering, Homecoming, or any other Sunday, it’s the day we welcome back our families (of all types and sizes) and kick off our new program year!

It’s also a day that we especially open our doors to visitors and newcomers who are looking to start the school year off by finding a new church.  So be sure to invite your neighbors and friends!

Co-ed Softball

Barrington Houses of Worship Softball League

Every summer BCCUCC fields a co-ed softball team to participate in the Barrington Houses of Worship Softball League.

Any interested men aged 30+ or women aged 16+ from our church who would like to play should contact Tom Strolla at ostrolla@cox.net.   It’s fun and new players are always very welcome.  The league uses the smaller 11 inch balls for the women and the regular 12 inch balls for the men.

Boy, Was That Spectacular!!

On December 16th, we celebrated our first Family Christmas Spectacular!! The highlight of the day was the cantata Joy!, by Joel Rainey, performed by our choir and number of musical guests. After such an upbeat and moving event we retired to our Fellowship Hall for cocoa, cookies and crafts. The event was attended by roughly 200 people of all ages and we had a wonderful time!!

On Sunday, December 16, we will host our Family Christmas Spectacular!

The festivities begin with a special service at 10:00 AM, where the BCCUCC choir, along with special musical guests, will present Joy! A Gospel Christmas, by Joel Raney. This upbeat and powerful telling of the Christmas story delights audiences with Christmas carols like you’ve never heard before interspersed with scripture readings on the theme of joy. People of all ages are welcome to stay in worship and enjoy the production, but childcare and special children’s activities
