5 pm   Family Service with Christmas Pageant

pageant picIt’s time to change things up a bit with our early Christmas Eve family service. Of course we are still going to use Brendan’s wonderful giant puppets, but we will be adding in more audience participation. Were you denied the chance to be Mary when you were a child “because so-and-so was always Mary?” Have you always wanted to be a shepherd because they rarely showered and you hate taking a bath? Well, this is the pageant for you. Everyone who attends this service is invited to dress up as their favorite nativity character. Yes, you can even be an animal!!

This service is for people of all ages.

*Also note:  this year’s Pageant will begin and end in the sanctuary. Last year we tried something new and many enjoyed the community procession from the hall to the sanctuary. However, the egress was hard for some of our attendees, so back to the traditional sanctuary!!

10 pm   Traditional Service of Lessons and Carols

The Rev. Dr. Dale Azevedo will lead and preach at this traditional service of readings and carols.  The readings will lead us through the Biblical story of our separation from God and into our promised reconciliation with God through the birth of Jesus.  Music is provided through congregational singing of many of our favorite carols along with special selections from our adult choir and instrumentalists.  All music is accompanied by Mrs. Marina Zabinski.  Everyone is welcome.

*For a little bit more on the choice of readings for this service, check out Dale’s latest blog!
