Thirteen high school youth and five adults from our church went on the 2007 Mission Trip to New York City.  They attended the "NightWatch" program at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine during the evenings and worked for Episcopal Social Services during the day.  The work project consisted of painting 5 rooms in a half-way house for teenage boys in the South Bronx.  The evening programs were with 6 other youth groups from 6 different states, learning about the ministry of the church in the inner city, meeting two former homeless people who are working to place the homeless into permanent housing situations around the city, and exploring the workings of the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world.  With their remaining time they all experienced the city through lots of walking and riding the NY Subway system.  Below are pictures from the trip.
