Easter Bonnets |
|
As a fundraiser for the Mission
Trip to Back Bay Mission, Easter Bonnets were made by the Mission
Trippers and their families on Saturday, March 15th. The base of
the bonnets were made out of the Sunday comic pages (a large number of
which had been brought in by the congregation over the past several
weeks), and they were then decorated with artificial flowers, ribbon,
lace, material and other such scraps that had also been collected from
the congregation.
The bonnets were made available
to the congregation the next day - Palm Sunday - for a donation of $20
each. Those who purchased bonnets were encouraged to wear them to
church the following Sunday - Easter Sunday.
The fundraiser was a big success - not only did
they sell all the bonnets that were pre-made, but more were made and
sold on Palm Sunday itself - and they had to quit making them when they
ran out of materials!!! Over 50 bonnets were sold and over $1,100
raised. Many of the purchasers wore their bonnet to church on Easter
Sunday.
The pictures below show how
much fun was had by everyone with this very unique fundraiser! |
